The First Second Life Copyright Infringement

The way corporates are looking at or experimenting with Second Life still has an air of innovation about it. It is interesting to see how corporates approach Second Life in very different ways.

However, as was the case with the “old web” first moves are made in the sex industry. The first copyright infringement on Second Life is about sex. Let’s see where things go!

According to Reuters: Second Life entrepreneur Kevin Alderman filed a copyright infringement lawsuit on Tuesday against Second Life resident Volkov Catteneo, and Alderman’s lawyer said he plans to subpoena Linden Lab to force it to disclose Catteneo’s real-world identity.

    Alderman sold the digital version of Amsterdam earlier this year for $50.000. Amongst nice canals, squares and bicylces, Amsterdam also provided cybersex-for-pay near the train station.
